Prep Kitchen

When disaster strikes—and whenever a neighbor needs a little extra help—our community comes together.

Located at 10128 Alta Sierra Drive, Prep Kitchen is more than a licensed, rentable commissary kitchen. When local emergencies such as fires, heavy snow, or other disasters displace our neighbors from their homes, Prep Kitchen transforms into a community soup kitchen, providing warm meals, comfort, and a helping hand when they’re needed most.

But caring for our community doesn’t have to wait for a disaster. Prep Kitchen also helps us prepare meals to have on hand for Alta Sierra Smiles, our random acts of kindness program that brings a little comfort and joy to neighbors experiencing hardship. Sometimes, a warm, homemade meal delivered at just the right moment can bring a much-needed smile and remind someone that their community cares.

These acts of kindness are made possible by people who are willing to show up, lend a hand, and care for their neighbors. Our partners at Prep Kitchen are looking for caring, energetic, and community-minded volunteers to help prep meals, support soup kitchen efforts, and be part of something that makes a real difference.
